Q. How can I find out whether my coins, currency, or stamps are valuable?
A. Please bring your items into the store for evaluation. We cannot determine the value of an item without viewing it in person. By being able to see the items, we can check dates, mint marks, varieties, possible errors, and even whether the item may be counterfeit! As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words!
Q. My coins are dark and discolored. Should I try to clean them?
A. No, please do not try to clean your coins. Improper cleaning of a coin can cause damage to the surface of the coin; once the damage is done, it cannot be undone. It is better to do nothing than to do something wrong.
Q. I have coins, currency, and stamps from other countries. Do you deal with these items?
A. Yes, we deal with worldwide items, both modern and ancient. If you are unsure, we can check them for you.
Q. I have some old and broken jewelry, but I am not sure whether it is gold. Should I bring it in?
A. Yes, please bring your items in to be evaluated. Items may have the markings that are worn off, or through sizing or repairs, the markings may have been removed. We can check and see whether your items are gold, silver, platinum, palladium, or other precious metals. Also, keep in mind that even if something has a gold marking on the piece, it may be fake! We can let you know.
Q. I have some old jewelry that I know is not gold. Is there any value to them?
A. We are interested in vintage costume jewelry, that is, pieces made in the 1960s, 1950s, 1940s, or even earlier! We can check these items and see whether they have value!
Q. Do you buy wristwatches or pocket watches?
A. Yes, we are interested in mechanical watches. These are watches which must be wound to work, or have a self -winder. Even if the watches are broken, they may have value! We can check these for you.
Q. I have an old silverware set. Do you buy them?
A. We are interested in all sterling silverware. This includes flatware sets, sterling silver trays, coffee and tea sets, and decorative items. We will also consider silver-plated items. Bring them in for us to view, and we will let you know!
Q. I have other items. What else do you deal with?
A. We deal with many collectible items. Some items we are interested in include vintage military-issued items from WWI, WWII, both United States and foreign nations, vintage mechanical toys from the 1940s, 1930s, etc. Vintage hobby train sets such as Lionel, MTH, and others.
